Give the United Methodist Village a "Chance"
As you can see pictured to the left, we have a pet cat named Chance. Chance has lived with us for about 5 years. He roams the halls, making his rounds, walking in and out of resident’s rooms and employee offices. You might even say, Chance thinks he owns the place. Our Activities Dept takes care of Chance. They feed him, bathe him, and make sure he gets to his doctors appts. In fact, if you’re in the Village around 4:00pm, you might hear us searching for Chance. We put him in his room at the same time every day, & he usually tries to evade us. We’ve even gone as far to make an announcement over our intercom system, "Chance please come to the Activities room."
Chance is beloved by our residents and employees as you can see from the pictures. As you can also see, Chance likes to sit in our holiday decorations. And, yes, he does do that by himself. We did not stage those pictures. As best we can tell, he probably does it because it is warm…or for attention.
The Village is also home to many other animals such as a giant rabbit named Doc, a Cockatiel named Isaac, many turtles, fish, and other birds. Look for pictures and highlights of these other animals in our following newsletters.
So give us a "Chance" here at The United Methodist Village. We offer many services for you or your loved one. We take great pride in caring for our residents and try to make The Village their home. They are our family & hope that they feel the same for us! They make us smile every day. So look at our website or call Freeda at (618) 943-3347 to schedule a tour of our facility. There may be a "Chance" that you’ll really like us!

Scholarship Program
Starting last year in 2009, the Village decided to recognize graduating seniors from Red Hill High School & Lawrenceville High School. Two students are chosen from each school and received $500 each. The Administrators interview the graduating seniors who apply for the scholarship. Those interested in applying for 2011 should talk with their guidance counselor.
July Employee of the Month
Main Campus: Rhonda Osbourne - Transportation Aide
North Campus: Dee Stone - Medical Records
The candidates for employee of the month are nominated by their supervisor. The names are then put on a ballot where all employees at the Village have an opportunity to vote for employee of the month. Ballots are counted, and the winners are announced the following week. Winners receive recognition & a $25 gift card.
Winners throughout the year will be recognized in a ceremony at the end of the year. Employees then will pick an employee of the year - one from each campus!
