Main Campus Activities Program

       "We Make it Happen!"

Our Activity Staff is dedicated to providing quality activities for our residents to stay active, motivated and engaged in the things they love to do. We do this in many ways.

Here are just a few:

Summer Gardening

Summer brings us beautiful vegetables from the garden.  Thanks to very generous donations the residents have spent many days shucking corn and breaking green beans. The residents were able to have corn on the cob and a fresh mess of green beans at our "picnic" lunch.  They also enjoyed watermelon and cantaloupe from the local farmers market, cucumbers and onions from Auten Centers garden, and deviled eggs made by the residents of Auten Center.  The residents really enjoy reminiscing about gardening, cooking, and canning as they work on these delicious vegetables, while Chance the Village cat supervises.  We are looking forward to having apples in the fall.

 Circus Day

August was National Smile Month.  What better way to bring a smile to someones face than the circus.  We started our day with an actual circus by the children from the Village's daycare.  We had performances from a lion who roared really loud, an elephant who could do tricks, a ballarina, a twirler, and the children passed out pictures of clowns that they colored to all the residents.  In the afternoon we were entertained by Gabby and Bubbles the clown and clown noses were given to all the residents to wear.  The clowns passed out animal balloons and we ate popcorn while watched a movie of an actual circus.  What a day!  It was a lot of fun!

Live Entertainment Is Always Welcomed

Members of the Lawrence County Arts Council performed songs from "A Night On Broadway", a show which was held at the high school the third weekend in August.  What a performance it was!  The residents are still talking about it. Anyone wishing to come to the Village and provide entertainment is encouraged to contact Pam Hipsher, Activity Director at (618) 943-3347 ext.1252.
