Our Activity Staff is dedicated to providing quality activities for our residents to stay active, motivated and engaged in the things they love to do. We do this in many ways.

Here are just a few:

Night of Elegance

On Wednesday, April 27th we hosted  our annual "Night of Elegance".  Family members were sent invitations to join their loved one for an elegant dinner served restaurant style by administative staff. 

 The residents began preparing early Wednesday morning with many visits to our beauty salon and the activities department provided nail polishing for anyone wanting to get dolled up.

The dining room was decorated with beautiful spring flowers, elegant lighting, and a harpist provided entertainment.  Steak and pork roast were served as well as blackberry cobbler with ice cream for one of the many desserts.

The evening was a great success and a great time was had by all!!

Crazy Hat Day

They say laughter is the best medicine.  This month we had a crazy hat day.  Before each activity this day residents and staff were adorned with some very crazy hats.  We started the day with a sing a long wearing our hats and ended the day with jokes, a hillarious video of laughter, and we played the Ha Ha game.  You could hear everyone laughing all the way down the hall.  What fun!! 

Special Entertainment

 This month we had special entertainment all the way from Texas.  Malcom Kite was here visiting his sister in Mt Carmel and volunteered to come and sing gospel music with us.  He even brought his wife along via the CD player.  They had recorded her playing well over a hundred older hymms that we all sang along to.  The residents had a wonderful time singing songs they loved and some they hadn't heard in years.  Anyone wishing to come to the Village and provide entertainment, music, skits, talks about vacations or mission trips, etc., is encouraged to contact Pam Hipsher, Activity Director at (618) 943-3347 ext.1252.
