  • Neurological conditions (Stroke, Parkinson's disease)
  • Pain Management
  • Swallowing Disorders
  • Wound Care

Therapy Services

Our therapy department is made up of  licensed Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy professionals.  The therapy department also believes in an interdisciplinary team approach for each resident.  The therapy department develops a personalized program to build on each resident's skills and goals.  Our goal is to use these individualized procedures to help our residents achieve maximum independence.

Physical Therapy provides exercises to improve balance and coordination to increase lower extremity strength and to facilitate safe ambulation.  This includes instruction on using walkers, canes, braces or prosthetic limbs.  We also have available a variety of modalities to assist with pain control, promote wound healing, and improve range of motion.

Occupational Therapy provides home management skills, upper body strengthening, wheel chair positioning, and training of adaptive equipment to help residents improve their activities of daily living skills (ADLs).  ADLs include dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, feeding and homemaking.

Speech Therapy is available to improve communication skills to help the individual use and understand communication effectively across a variety of settings.  As well as utilizing techniques to increase speech production.  Speech Therapy may target language skills needed for ADLs individualized to the resident's needs.  Speech Therapy is also available to improve a resident's swallowing function.

Restorative Nursing

Once skilled therapy services have reached a resident's maximum potential, we offer a state approved restorative nursing program which is individually tailored to meet each resident's needs.  Restorative therapy helps our residents retain the progress made while in Physical, Occupational and or Speech Therapy.

Restaurant Style Dining

Similar to dining at your favorite restaurant, our restaurant style dining allows residents flexibility and choice in their meals.  Residents are offered the "Daily Special" or they may place an order off our menu.  Just a few examples of menu choices include: grilled cheese, BLT's, catfish filets, cheeseburgers, tenderloins, french fries, onion rings, soup, coleslaw, cottage cheese, & chef salads.

Families and friends of our residents are invited to join their loved ones at meal times.  Our servers look forward to taking orders and preparing the meals as ordered.

Enclosed & Secure Courtyard

Nestled safely inside our campus is an entirely enclosed and secure courtyard for our residents to enjoy.  The courtyard has a canopy for shade, and swings for residents and their loved ones to enjoy.

We currently have an Adopt-A-Pot contest which different family members, residents, and staff are responsible for a specific flower pots.  This contest was an opportunity for planting flowers or vegetables in the courtyard...it started as a project just for fun and has really beautified our courtyard!  Residents & families have enjoyed watching the flower pots bloom into beautiful arrangements throughout these hot summer months.  During the month of August the contest winner will be announced.

Activity Departments

We offer a variety of activities to enrich the daily lives of our residents.  Check out our Activities page for updates.

One of our residents made a deal recently with our activities director.  The deal was if he picked the blackberries from our courtyard, she would make blackberry cobbler.  He picked enough blackberries for 6 cobblers which was enough to share with the entire building.  What made it even better was the homemade ice cream that the residents made to go with the cobbler.  Our residents talked about how much making homemade ice cream has changed through the years.  When they were growing up they would fight over who got to sit on the ice cream bucket while someone else cranked the handle.  The residents said that today it is so much easier...get a mix...add milk..plug it in...that's all there is to it!  They all agreed that the blackberry cobbler and ice cream sure hit the spot!
