Spirituality

The United Methodist Village, Inc is a non-profit Christian organization founded by the United Methodist Church. Since its inception in 1908, The Village staff has been motivated by a guiding spirit of compassion and Christian concern for the whole person - mind, body, and spirit.

Chaplain Sally Legg and our faithful volunteers provide services for the residents at both facilities. The United Methodist Village North Campus has a new chapel that was dedicated and consecrated by our Board of Directors and our District Superintendent, Rev. Cynthia Jones. The Parlor at the main campus has been newly decorated with a quiet serene setting for our residents and their families' enjoyment.

A 4th of July service was held in the UMV Worship Center with the residents and families, along with staff members, all taking part in the service. The Village Choir sang Patriotic songs (pictured above), Kay Kendall, Food Service Director sang a special song (pictured middle right), and family member James Gillespie (pictured at bottom) had a reading of "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic."  The Village has a home like setting with love and respect for all with everyone working together. Pastoral care available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." -James 1:27 (NRSV)

"All residents are admitted regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or ability to pay."
